Bipedalism, or 'two-footed walking', tells the tale of an artist who grew up in an orphanage and only years later discovers the circumstances surrounding his father's disappearance and death. Childhood memories lead the protagonist back to the past, prompting him to purchase a house in the suburbs that once belonged to his family. In the basement, he stumbles upon his father's archives and scientific research documents regarding the hybridization of the human race with other biological species. As he delves into the archive material, he unexpectedly uncovers evidence of efforts to continue the experiments on the remaining hybrid population. Intrigued, the painter transforms himself into a researcher, unknowingly stepping into a dangerous web. His father's research aimed to change, control, and influence the process of human evolution, initially rooted in eugenic theories from the pre-World War II era. Now, these theories are being placed in the context of modern 'biotechnological' expectations by his former colleagues. The main character endeavors to recreate and fulfill his father's legacy, who was coerced into collaborating with state terror organizations using the results of his secret research. Tragically, this information becomes the protagonist's reality, forcing him to reevaluate his father's values and ultimately driving him to madness.
